CBS Cancels Jericho

So it looks like Jericho will not be renewed on CBS. Nina Tassler, president of CBS Entertainment released the following statement to various media outlets although she has not posted on the CBS Jericho Message board to address the fans directly:

"The March 25th episode of Jericho will be the series finale. Without question, there are passionate viewers watching this program; we simply wish there were more. We thank an engaged and spirited fan base for keeping the show alive this long, and an outstanding team of producers, cast and crew that went through creative hoops to deliver a compelling, high quality second season. We have no regrets bringing the show back for a second try. We listened to our viewers, gave the series an opportunity to grow, and the producers put a great story on the screen. We're proud of everyone's efforts."

Carol Barbee, the show's executive producer, is "pursing other avenues" for the show. Although there are reports that Sci-Fi, which purchased the rights to air the first and second season reruns, has passed on the show, there are still other options out there.

I wish CBS could see in my mind what I think of them for canceling Jericho! again.  It makes no sense to me that they don't cancel STUPID shows like Big Bang, Survivor, Big Brother, New Adventures Of The Old Christine - just to name a few off the top of my head!!

Thank you to the cast, crew, producers and everyone involved in the making of Jericho!  It was the best show I've ever seen, bar none, and I will remain true to it for as long as it can survive. I'll back which ever network snatches it up and their commercial sponsors.  I've always been part of the silent majority before. Someone please keep us caught up on how we can support Jericho! now. I would love to have the Season 2 DVD if anyone is going to offer it.

I do believe, based on my time in the military as well as my continued friendship with various people who are still in the military or work for various military contractors that Jericho's demise has nothing to do with Nielsen or anything else regarding this as a business case. Many who I know who have been in the service over the past 10 years (or more recently) are stunned by the amount of information (highly accurate) which is included in the Jericho story line. I suspect that some people in influential areas might be pushing Moonves and others to dop the show because it's discussing certain facts not known by many, all in the open, but most people are too lazy to research. J&R, KBR, Ravenwood, Blackwater, etc operated in plain sight, but in the shadows for how many years? Now they're getting breakfast table discussion notoriety.

Well looks like it is time to campaign again.Let s do what we do best and stoke the fires of protest.BTW I thought it a nice touch to have Gayle back on the show.It gave things a sense of continuity.Surely the Pro Jericho voices of the past have not been stilled..I have my crate of Nuts ready.Lets Roll. Sell Jericho to SC-FI?

HBO? They have Bill Maher when he got canned by a major network.

Another network? Overseas network?

Who would be a natural pick up for Jericho?

I know a lotta questions, and this time I don't have answer if SC-FI won't pick up.

I have to thank the stars

I have to thank the stars that have given what can only be called a command performance to make this season spectacular.  While I think that if Sci Fi gave it more of a chance considering that FCATS, spring break, holidays were happening when it blitzed the showing of the first season... I wish they would give it a little more time before not considering picking it up.  That said...

 

Major networks are making more and more enemies of their viewers by prevailing to the commercial wants of stupid reality television and comedy.  They are neglecting those of us who like mystery, suspense, drama and hypothetical situations.  We prefer a thought provoking show over mindless babbling. What made Jericho so interesting was the dynamics of IT COULD HAPPEN and how would we respond and how would the nation respond and how would the world respond.  What would the options be, how would ones thought processes work under those circumstances.  The skill of the writers and the actors showed the full spectrum.

 

So we walk away from CBS realizing that it only wants to cater to a majority of sheep rather than those of us who would be obvious leaders. That is what the whole show was about, leadership.  Surviving against the unknown and the nature of Americans who are fighters for Freedom to make a STAND.

 

Let's face it WE MADE A STAND... we WON... if we get a chance we will DO IT AGAIN!  That is what it was all about.  In our own way... WE WERE JERICHO!!!  Well for seven more shows.

Are you saying SC-FI has made a decision already about Jericho?

Shoot, I didn't even know it was on reruns, 1st Season until it was late.

 

CBS was going to cancelled anyways....they got their orders just everyone

else does. Notice how much promotion they gave the show the past year?

 

Anyways their orders are More Reality and BritenyTV!

 

Let's hope Jericho returns to SC-FI.....because Jericho fits with the rest of

their line-up....sc-fi, fantasy and what ifs.....or another channel, even overseas who

could pickup the show.

 

Anyways, CBS loves sheep....because they buy, buy, buy.....I think we were just lucky to have Jericho. Maybe it was poor timing, if you know what I mean.

Remember that guy who said, don't dare think?

I just say the notice about the cancellation on CNN Headline news, 10:00 am EST. I feel that if Junction 97 probuctions is going to try and get jericho onto amother network, we fans should put all our support into that effort. I also feel CBS has betrayed its fan base, we were there in the dark times of Jericho, and were dumped.

There are still options out there.  We just have to take a deep breath and be patient.   In the meantime let's all support Jericho, the cast, the crew and each other.
