Will the special wrap up of episodes 2-11 draw viewers into the plot?

Friday night, CBS will air what I have been refering to as the "Readers Digest Condensed First Half of the Season." It will be a recap of episodes 2-11 to get the new viewer "up to date" on what is hapening when they air episode 12. While I understand due to scheduling conflicts, this is probably neccissary evil, I am still left wondering, will this actually make new viewers invested in the show.

Part of the draw for me of Jericho was the personal involvment I felt with the story. I tuned in each week because the pace and flow drew me in. We all wanted to know what the deal with Hawkins is! We all wanted to know what would hapen next. I just don't know if condensing 10 episodes into one hour will convey the drama, the urgency or the suspense that each episode builds.

I really hope that I will be proven wrong, and they will find a way to add the drama and the suspense and make it so viewers will be begging for more. I hope they find a compelling way to make it so the new viewers are BEGGING for more. I know it will be a tough challenge.

Summary Episode

I showed my parents episodes 1 and 2 and then showed them Return to Jericho, all from my iPod hooked through the TV, and aside from explaining a few things they are still way into it.  I think the second half of the season is much more exciting anyway.  I get impatient with the first half.  Everyone I have shown the show to from my friends in their 20's to my sisters in high school, to my parents in their 50's, they all love this show.  I am so thankful that it is still here.

Wowed all over again

What a great show this is!  Even though I've seen every episode, including the condensed version, I still felt the anxiousness and nervousness of the very first time I saw the shows.  The acting is wonderful and knowing how it ends, (for now)lets you catch little things/lines you didn't get the first time. I knew it was a great show, but tonight, I am reminded just how good it is and am thrilled to have been a part of bringing it back.
