To Spoil or Not To Spoil, that is the question

As the new season draws near, I have been pondering this one question - Do I really want to know what happens this season before it happens?

The internet is full of spoilers. Heck, I just started a thread today in the Season 2 forum just for them. New characters, new plot lines, more information about what the deal with Hawkins is will all come creeping onto the internet. Basic plot summaries for all of the episodes will probably appear in the next few weeks. We might know the answers to who is on the train and if the military forces are really the US Government as soon as a few months from now.

But will knowing the answers to these questions reduce or enhance our viewing enjoyment?

Personally, on a show like Jericho, the acting and writing make it like a good movie. I can watch the episodes multiple times and glean new understanding and enjoyment from them each time. Honestly knowing a new character is coming, or even that it's Jonah and his forces on the train won't spoil things too much for me. Heck, last season I had a pretty good idea Johnston was going to die in the finale.

But I think I might try to avoid the major spoilers this season. With only seven episodes and a TON of story packed into each, I want to be able to savor each episode to its fullest. This might mean I might post a few "Blind Links" here at JRP, but overall, I think this season, I want to be surprised.

I Run From Spoilers

I know some are addicted to spoilers like crack, but the less I know the better. I like being suprized and trying to speculate as to where the stories will go. And the best part? I am usually wrong, which makes the whole thing even more enjoyable.

Spoil Me!

Honestly, spoilers do not ruin a show for me.  I will watch regardless of how spoiled I get  If anythng, they make me want to watch all that much more.  It heightens anticipation.

Knowing what happens is one thing.  Seeing it happen is what I look forward to.  With a well written and well acted show, a blurb of a spoiler will not do the actual episode justice.

So bring it on!

hmm.... not really, girl. i

hmm.... not really, girl. i mean - when you know what we'll happen you wait for it to happen. i'm not waiting for it, i'm waiting for a new seasons episode. so as much as i want to know what's the next thing i simply refuse this knowledge, what hopefully will maximize the fun and hysteria state i'll be in when the new EP'll come out.
by the way - hi there, again :)

Take my love, take my land, Take me where I can not stand
I don't care, I'm still free, You can't take the sky from me
Take me out through the black, Tell them I ain't comming back
Burn the land and boil the sea, But you can't take the sky from me

There's no place I can be, Since I've found serenity
But you can't take the sky from me...

I Don't Want to Know Either

I'm with you Lilith on the spoilers. I don't want to know ahead of time, but I think if we have the information we should post it for those who do want to know or would that be too tempting?
